Hosting the Inaugural International Conference on Research and Practice of Nurture Intervention Projects Jointly Organized by UK's Maudsley Hospital and Ningbo Kangning Hospital"

On November 25, 2022, facilitated by GDK UK Medical, the inaugural international conference on Parenting Intervention Research and Practice, titled 'Webinar on Parenting Research and Practice: International Perspectives (PRPIP)', was organized. This joint venture was between the Moseley Hospital SLaM in the UK and Ningbo Kangning Hospital. GDK UK Medical was proud to host the event.

The conference was held virtually and featured esteemed experts from diverse backgrounds. Professor Crispin Day and Dr. Jo Nicoll from Moseley Hospital in the UK, Dr. Miguel Basto-Pereira, the head of Forensic Psychology at ISPA - University Institute in Portugal, Dr. Paul Prichard from Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Australia, Professor Du Yasong from the Shanghai Mental Health Center, Secretary Zhou, Professor Hu Zhenyu, and Vice Dean Yu Haihang from Ningbo Kangning Hospital all delivered insightful lectures on the Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) program. The webinar attracted over a thousand professionals in the fields of child and adolescent mental health and related disciplines."

"This project originates from the Centre for Parent and Child Support (CPCS) at the Maudsley Hospital in London, UK. As one of the oldest hospitals in Britain, Maudsley Hospital stands as the UK's most authoritative large-scale mental health institution. It is regarded by the National Health Service (NHS) as the best psychiatric hospital and has garnered international acclaim. Having operated in the UK for decades, the program is well-received by parents and has provided robust support in addressing local child mental health issues. Moreover, the EPEC program has been implemented across various cultural contexts internationally, including countries like Australia, Ireland, Japan, Portugal, Scotland, and Wales. Since May 2020, Ningbo Kangning Hospital has introduced a sub-project of EPEC: 'Being A Parent of Autism Spectrum Disorder (BAP-ASD)'. This program underwent a localization process, making it more apt for Chinese families. We eagerly anticipate academic exchanges and experience sharing with international peers, and we hope that more domestic counterparts will gain insights and join the initiative. Our ultimate aim is for a greater number of children, parents, and families to benefit from the EPEC program."
